Hockey is for everyone
Chicago Pride Hockey creates LGBTQIA+ inclusive hockey spaces where players of all levels can learn, play, compete, and belong.
What we stand for
The culture is the point
The hockey matters. So does the locker room. These are the standards, habits, and little rituals we want people to feel every time they show up.
Inclusion
Respect
Growth
Community
Joy
Visibility
A locker room that accepts you exactly as you are
CPH is built around not needing to hide any part of yourself. Different identities, backgrounds, bodies, skill levels, personalities, and starting points are not exceptions here, they are part of what makes the locker room fun.

What happens around the game is part of why people come back
The cheering, the chirping, the nervous first shifts, the chaotic saves, the post-game hangs, and the “you coming next week?” moments are what turn ice time into community.

Beginner, returning, competitive, curious
New to Hockey, teams, drop-ins, open ice, clinics, volunteering, and community events all count. Whether you are brand new, rusty, competitive, curious, or just looking for your people, there is a place for you here.

Good teammate culture is part of good hockey
Respect teammates, opponents, refs, rink staff, shared space, and the game itself. Inclusion is not separate from hockey culture here. It is the standard.

We can care deeply about the mission and still be deeply unserious together
Awards, inside jokes, weird moments, Pride visibility, and real competition can live in the same place.

Built so we could play
CPH was created because people deserve a place to play hockey where they can show up as themselves and feel like they belong. No shrinking. No hiding. Just hockey in a space built with care from the start.
Chicago + Hockey + Pride
Visibility matters when people are deciding if they belong
01
Why we exist
Founded in 2002, CPH grew out of the need for a hockey community where LGBTQIA+ players and allies could feel safe, seen, and supported.
02
How it has grown
Today that community includes teams, beginner-friendly programming, drop-in skates, clinics, social events, and ways to connect on and off the ice.
03
What it makes possible
CPH grows because people, partners, and donors believe this kind of hockey should exist. Every contribution help turn this feeling into real access: more ice time, more gear, more clinics, more events, and more ways for people to find their place in hockey.
The people working to keep CPH a welcoming place for all
CPH is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built and run by volunteers who believe this kind of hockey matters. Our Board of Directors serves on a volunteer basis, and the work behind the scenes (planning skates, organizing clinics, answering emails, building policies, coordinating events, and keeping the community moving) is done by people who care deeply about making hockey feel possible for more people.
