New to Hockey program

Learn hockey with people learning, too

CPH's N2H community is for adults who want to learn the game without skating into it alone. Ask questions, figure out equipment, learn where to skate, and meet people who are figuring it out with you.

Gear help
Ask before you buy
New players can compare notes on skates, sticks, protective gear, used gear, where to shop, and get on advice where to start.
Learn together
Find classes, clinics, and beginner ice
N2H can point people toward learn-to-skate options, stick-and-puck sessions, open ice, and ways to play with people who know your name.
Your first skate
Show up with people who get it
Walking into a rink is easier when someone else is also figuring out the door, the locker room, and how to tape a stick. With N2H, coordinate with a friend so you don't have to do it all alone.
Path to playing
Move at the pace that fits you
Everyone learns and develops differently. Some people just want to have fun, while others are looking to be more competitive. With N2H, you can find people to support you no matter your goals.

Nervous about getting equipment?

A lot of new players get stuck here, but we are here to help!
Here's your checklist - what do you have?! 0 of 7 checked
Important
You do not have to buy everything new

One of the best jobs for the N2H community is helping people avoid expensive mistakes. Ask what can be borrowed, rented, what can be bought used, what needs to fit well, and what can wait until you know you want to keep going.

Join and get the advice you need, or even a shopping buddy! Getting equipment can be stressful, but community makes it feel a little less scary.

Your first four steps to start playing hockey

Step 01

Say hi.

Join the community, introduce yourself, and tell people what you are trying to learn.

Step 02

Solve one gear question.

Ask about skates, helmets, sticks, used gear, or what you need for your first ice time.

Step 03

Find one skate.

Look for a class, open ice, stick-and-puck, or beginner-friendly session that fits.

Step 04

Come back.

Share what felt good, what felt awkward, and what you want to try next.

Join a team that makes room for you exactly as you are

Come skate with us, find your people, and become part of a community that makes hockey feel welcoming.
